Cross-Training at Inner Strength-
Inner Strength’s personal training programs are different from all others. Our cross training yoga-based approach is holistic, intuitive, and individualized. In each session, we will work together to open and strengthen your body. Personal Cross Training at Inner Strength combines both Eastern and Western approaches to fitness to take you on a journey into optimal strength and conditioning. Inner Strength also offers conventional personal training sessions. Did you know that your personal training sessions will enhance your strength, balance, coordination, stability and understanding on the mat?

We begin all sessions with breathing. When your breath is full and synchronized with motion, you will experience power and strength you didn’t know you possessed. Using this power, we will work with cardiovascular activity, functional strength training, and yoga and stretching.

We teach our clients to lay a foundation of basic Yoga principles of breathing, balance, coordination, flexibility, and body awareness. We build on this foundation with conventional methods of exercise including strength training and cardiovascular conditioning. In each one of our sessions we cover all the elements prescribed by the American College of Sports Medicine and much more including:
Cardiovascular strength and endurance |
Muscular Strength and endurance |
Flexibility |
Body Composition (Lean body mass: body fat) |
Personal training at Inner Strength is not about quick weight loss or building gigantic muscles. It is about coming into your body, realizing your individual needs, and working toward lifelong health and wellness. At Inner Strength, your body leads the way.

Inner Strength Certified Personal Trainers have extensive training in Yoga asana, cardiovascular fitness, exercise physiology, and anatomy as well as knowledge of common physical problems including back, shoulder, knee, and hip pains. We work together with clients listening and communicating to create the most effective modern methods of conditioning to help them along their journey. Personal Training sessions can be a valuable tool for those who are just starting out on their wellness program, those returning from injury, or someone wanting to explore what conventional exercises have to offer. Our personal training programs can stand on its own or provide an excellent supplement to our yoga offerings. Sessions are by appointment.
Often, people come to Inner Strength with new injuries when they have pushed themselves too hard or old injuries that have never healed correctly. Our priority is SAFTY for the client. With our team of trainers Inner Strength will coach you allowing for a safe and progressive return to optimal physical health.

Ben McLellan
Ben comes to Inner Strength from the Boston Sports Club. He has a diverse background of fitness and music. Ben first pursued the sports medicine field in his first year of college. At the time, it did not seem like the right fit, so he worked his way towards a bachelor's degree in classical music with a minor in jazz studies. Ben continues to enjoy studying and playing drums.
In the past year or so, since moving to Watertown, he has been working with a diverse group of clients. The list includes weight loss clients, post rehab, former college athletes, and some beginning yogis. Ben takes great pride in ensuring that clients receive what they need from private sessions. He has his certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, attends continuing education seminars and is passionate about researching and studying the corrective exercise facets of fitness.
